Maureen Rooney came to the real estate field from a very different background—historic preservation, nonprofit housing, and community development.
Her experience with historic restoration, first-time home buyers, and neighborhood activism blends with her love of “places” to make her a powerful ally to home buyers and sellers in the historic neighborhoods of Phoenix. (All those who said that a Bachelor’s in Urban Geography was useless should take note.)
Less a salesperson, and more a knowledgeable tour guide, Maureen loves being able to help clients choose the perfect home and neighborhood to call home.
She’s been called a tenacious negotiator, a font of information, and a friend by her clients. Her photography and writing hobbies are helping to expand historicphoenix.com, where the questions her clients ask have inspired new pages of information to help future clients find their historic neighborhood of choice.
With roots in New Jersey, she came to Arizona for college and never looked back. Central Phoenix is home.
|Thank God for Maureen Rooney!
In retrospect, I probably would be considered the quintessential 'nightmare' client yet she maintained patience and an uncanny sense of professionalism. Saying she went above and beyond would be an understatement. Her perseverance, honesty and guidance got me into the house of my dreams and for that I am truly grateful! Thanks Maureen - you are a gem!

Maureen is the insurance you need for success when you're buying in this crazy real estate market. Not only will she hang in there through frustrating bank delays, but will deal with cranky sellers and with a smile and incredible tact. She usually finds a way to charm all participants and really grease the wheels of progress.
When I hired her as my agent, she immediately figured out the kind of property I wanted and sent me listings on a daily basis which were usually not too far from the mark. When I was ready to view the properties, she was always on time to meet me and fully prepared with a printed market analysis.
At the close of one of my purchases, I had an especially tough short sale with squatters that I had to evict and Maureen literally stood by my side as the police came to boot out the squatters. I will never forget her for that.
